Happy New Year and welcome to the first cartoon update of 2019!

Firstly, many thanks to everyone who purchased a Drawn From History calendar over the festive period.  I wasn’t sure what to expect when I decided to depart from books and booklets this year and am very grateful for how the calendars have been received.  A handful remain and can still be acquired here, should you want to own one (it is only early January so you would still get nearly all your moneys worth in terms of days!).

There are a fair few irons in the fire for the year ahead and I will update this blog with announcements at the appropriate time(s).  For now, here’s some of the things I’m working on in the very immediate future:

My residency with Octo Members Group continues into 2019.  You can find my weekly topical cartoons (a couple of which are featured below) on their app and twitter feed.  Obviously there is a lot more to discover on the app besides cartoons and I encourage any financial services professionals reading this to take a look if you haven’t already.

The Crew to Captain Trilogy has undergone a new year’s slimming down process and David Mellor’s start-up guides are due to be re-released this year in a new format and I’ve created a set on new cartoons for each.  If you missed the trilogy the first time around, do keep your eyes peeled.  The later books are especially useful if you are looking to move into consultancy but the original is a really useful guide for anyone looking to set up on their own in any sector.

I will be giving a lecture and live cartooning as part of Reigate Grammar School’s Beyond the Classroom series this month, which should be an interesting evening and hopefully the first of many live events to come this year.

I will endeavour to keep you updated as new ventures become public, but for now I wish you all the best for the year ahead and hope that you enjoy this month’s cartoon selection.

Best wishes,

James.
